Didn't like it.
September is trying to save her autistic nephew and his dog. Only parts I liked reading was her dog and cat training. Very expensive snake oil treatment families signing up to cure their autistic children. But many pages of this book is filled with unnecessary dialogue.

What a well-written book, especially for a debut novel. Ms. Shojai is not a novice writer; she has many non-fiction books and articles on pet health under her belt. Now, in this story of an autistic child and his service dog lost in a snowstorm, the aunt that is trying desperately to find him and...

I have to admit that at first I was skeptical about how much I was going to enjoy the book – because I felt upon reading the jacket copy that too much of the plot had been disclosed (don’t worry, I was partially wrong). And the first few chapters were a bit rough, fo...

I read this book for Promotional Book Tours for a fair and honest review.
This book starts out in a unique way. It takes from a dog's point of view of how things are taking place. I found that an original way to do things.
The summary of this book does not do this book justice. It is so much more t...

This is one of the most unique story lines I have read in a while. Besides being a riveting story, the inclusion of the German Shepard, Shadow, as a character in the novel is truly fascinating. To follow along in the dog's head and see his need to please, obey, take care and understand is a wonde...

Dragged on and on. Shadow's monologue was boring and difficult to get through. Too many characters and events going on at the same time. Couldn't finish the book.

To be perfectly honest, when I first read the plot summary for this book, I thought it was going to be a light/cozy mystery. I had no idea what I was in store for. This book is intense. There is a lot going on between the missing autistic boy, the sister (April) getting mixed up with the miracle...
